Inline alpine pole hitting

Inline alpine has a unique technique of hitting the gate with stock. How good is the pole hitting

(1) Direction of the gate to fall

(2) Loudness at the time of hit

(3) Position where the stock and the gate hit

(4) Timing

I think that it can be evaluated the pole hitting with these above.

(1) It is better for the pole to fall sideways instead of in the fall line direction. The fact that the pole falls in the direction of the fall line leads to a slowdown with respect to the forward movement.

(2) Loudness correlates with the energy generated by the collision. The speed will be lost accordingly. Of course, faster players will have more energy, but smaller sounds are preferable at the same speed.

(3) It is desirable that the hit position is as high as possible. Even if you take a method such as sliding up, it is better to finally move away at a high position. This is because of the principle of leverage.

(4) It is better to hit before the apex of the turn arc. When the pole fall sideways, the center of gravity has moved outward if it is before the apex of the turn arc, so the collision inside the turn will not be negative.

However, Inline-Alpine is not all about pole hits.

When the outer shoulder is lowered due to angulation, the position where it hits is naturally lowered, and as a result, the loudness also increased. However, I think that’s fine because I was able to catch the outer legs faster and stronger. It ’s the difference in what to prioritize.
